Catherine Stewart

Catherine Elizabeth Stewart (Rudder) of Hanover entered into eternal rest on August 7, 2022.

Catherine was the daughter of William Rudder and the late Mary E. Rudder of Hanover. Catherine leaves behind her beloved husband of 52 years,  John Stewart of Hanover; her devoted sons, Joseph Stewart of Hanover and  William Stewart of Weymouth; her cherished grandson, Domenic of Weymouth, and her loving father, William Rudder of Hanover. Catherine will be mourned by her brother, William J Rudder and his wife, Mary and her brother, John M.Rudder and his wife, Linda. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends will lament the loss of their dear Catherine, as will her very special Aunts Janey Rudder of NE, Helen Nugget of Lynnfield, and Ann Kelley of Tewksbury.

Catherine was raised in Dorchester and Weymouth. She was a 1965 graduate of Weymouth High School.

Catherine married John Stewart in 1970. They settled in Hanover, and raised their two sons. Catherine worked for the telephone company and as a legal secretary for several different South Shore firms. Catherine loved spending time with her family and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday August 18th from 9:00 – 10:00 in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:45 on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Mary of the Sacred Heart Church, Hanover at 11 AM.
