Catherine M. Cannavo

Cannavo, Catherine M. (Buresh) of Weymouth, formerly of Roxbury passed away February 2, 2023.

Catherine was born in Boston to the late Joseph and Margaret Buresh. She grew up in Roxbury and attended Roxbury Memorial School for Girls, and summered in Hummarock.

For many years, she worked alongside her husband John, running their plumbing business. Catherine’s true passion was crafting. She was a talented seamstress, painter, and artist. She attended local craft fairs and gifted many creations to friends and family.

Beloved wife of 55 years to John P. Cannavo of Weymouth. Loving mother of Christine Cannavo and her wife Rina Discepolo of Needham, Peter Cannavo and his wife Sara of Weymouth and Elizabeth Cannavo-Gruber and her husband Peter of Bristol, RI. Dear sister of Jean Manning of Hingham, Barbara Quigley of Plymouth and the late Frank, Charlie, Billy, Davey, Margie, Helen, Jimmy and Joseph. Cherished grandmother of 3; Samantha Cannavo, Johnny Cannavo and Nathan Gruber. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and her grandpups, Lucy and Lola.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A – Bicknell Square). A funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30 AM in McDonald Keohane Funeral Home. Burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth.
