Catherine “Kay” (Grudack) Chop of Hanover passed away surrounded by her loving family in her home on October 26, 2022. She was 87.
Born in Manchester NH, the daughter of the late Edward and Victoria (Lidwin) Grudack, she has lived in Hanover for 59-years. A graduate of Tuffs University and The Museum School of Fine Art in Boston, she taught middle-school art in the town of Hanover MA for 33-years.
Catherine loved to travel and explore our great county and the world beyond! She traveled with her husband Stephen and their two children in their Airstream travel trailer from the shores of New England to Alaska, to bicycling the Hawaiian Islands. She had many interests beyond traveling; fly fishing, cooking, gardening, and yoga. She always enjoyed spending time and attending yoga at the Hanover Senior Center.
Beloved wife of 64-years to Stephen J. Chop.
Loving mother of Camela T. Leigh and her husband, Eric, of Rockport, and Kevin W. Chop and his wife Valerie of Bethel, CT. Grandmother of Timothy, Joshua, Amanda, Chloe, and Adam. Great Grandmother of Tyler and Caleb.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday, November 3rd, from 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte. 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).
A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at St. Mary of the Sacred Heart Church, Hanover at 10 AM on Friday November 4th.
Cremation will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donates can be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for Pancreatic Cancer Research
