Gatens, Catherine of Quincy, died February 3, 2005 after a lengthy illness. Wife of the late David G. M. Gatens. Loving mother of E. Violet Korzeniowski of Quincy. Cherished grandmother of Kenneth J. Korzeniowski and Barbara A. (Korzeniowski) Cohen, both of Quincy. Beloved great-grandmother of Justin D. Cohen and Narah C. Cohen. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews in Scotland, New Zealand and the United States. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral Service from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON on Wednesday at 11:00 AM. Visiting hours Tuesday 2 – 4 PM and 7 – 9 PM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy. Born in Govan, Scotland in 1911, Mrs. Gatens was a french polisher on the ship the Queen Mary before moving to New Zealand. She and her family came to the United States in 1963 to visit relatives and stayed. She was a former employee of Keystone Mfg. of Dorchester and Howard Johnson’s of Quincy. Mrs. Gatens was independent woman. She was always very caring of others, especially her family.
