Wallace, Catherine F. “Kay” (Slattery) died on June 14, 2008 at Marian Manor in South Boston following a lengthy illness. Born and raised in Dorchester, Kay and her late husband, Edward “Bud” Wallace moved to Quincy about 40 years ago. Kay is survived by her brother Joseph M. Slattery and his wife Gail of Mashpee. She is predeceased by two sisters, Mary E. Hurley and Anne T. Shea. Kay will be missed by ten nieces and nephews, 16 grandnieces and grandnephews and one great-grandniece, as well as many life-long friends. Kay was a graduate of Girl’s High School in Boston. Her career in the insurance industry began in high school and continued until her retirement as a Vice President for the Frank B. Hall Company. Kay was a faithful communicant at St. Ann’s Church in Wollaston. She was a former member of the Proparvulis Club and Disabled American Veterans’ Auxiliary. She was also a proud life-long member of the Savin Hill Femmes. Kay loved to travel and work on her ceramics but most of all, she loved spending time with family and friends. She was a blessing to all who knew her and will be deeply missed. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St.,, Thursday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 PM. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Donations in memory of Mrs. Wallace may be made to Boston Catholic TV, PO Box 9196, 34 Chestnut St., Watertown, MA 02471 or to Marian Manor, 130 Dorchester St., South Boston, MA 02127.
