Lawrence, Catherine E. (Carney) of East Bridgewater, formerly of Dorchester and Brockton, passed away August 21, 2011. Beloved wife of 44 years to Edward J. Lawrence. Loving mother of Edward M. Lawrence and his wife, Stacia L. Kinnear-Vandehey, of East Bridgewater, Cynthia M. Fowler and her husband, Kevin, of Georgia, and George M. Lawrence of Dorchester. Sister of Thomas Carney and his wife, Cheryl, of Brockton, and the late Noreen Joyce and George Carney. Cherished grandmother of, Jerry, Brad, Ameliah, Savannah, Charlie, and Julianne. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Catherine was born in Boston, and was raised in the Roxbury /Jamaica Plain section of Boston. She had lived in Dorchester for several years, moved to Brockton and then had lived in East Bridgewater for the past six years. She had worked at Sunbeam Bread Thrift Store in Dorchester for several years, and until her retirement was a laundry aide at Marina Bay Skilled Nursing Center for twenty years. A lover of pets, the most enjoyment Catherine had in her life was being surrounded by her grandchildren. She was also a person who donated to many charities and always wanted to make sure she was helping others. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in Saint Mark’s Church, 1725 Dorchester Avenue, Dorchester, at 10 a.m. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester. Memorial donations in memory of Catherine may be made to American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701 or to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress Street, 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02210
