Catherine E. “Kay” Keaveney

Keaveney, Catherine E. “Kay” (Doherty) of Hingham, formerly of Marshfield, June 7, 2009. Beloved wife of the late Martin R. Keaveney. Loving mother of the late John J. Keaveney. Mother-in-law of Mary Keaveney of Hull. Sister of the late Josephine Beaudry and John “Johnny” Doherty. Grandmother of Maureen Hunnefeld, John “J” Keaveney, Carolyn Reynolds, Jean-marie Brady and Daniel Keaveney. Also survived by 10 great grandchildren. Catherine’s pride and joy was her only son John, who died in 1981. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her rose bushes. She was quite a seamstress and made all of her own clothing. Kay was an accounting clerk in the finance office at the West Palm Beach Courthouse in Florida. She lived there for twenty years and came back to Massachusetts in 1983, where she worked for South Shore Housing. Mrs. Keaveney was independent and strong willed. She had a great love of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. Her favorite pastime was enjoying any college or professional football game. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Life Celebration Service in Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St., HINGHAM, Thursday at 9:15 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM. Visiting hours Wednesday 3-7 PM. Burial in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury.
