Catherine D. “Doreen” Chase

Chase, Catherine D. “Doreen” (Flaherty) of Quincy, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2023. She was 88 years young.

She was born on September 20, 1935 in Boyle County Roscommon, Ireland to the late Patrick Flaherty and Kathleen (Boylan) Flaherty. She moved to the United States to live with her sisters and worked at John Hancock Insurance. She married her husband Robert E. Chase on June 10th 1961. She will be missed by family and friends but they are thankful for the many years they had with her.

Loving mother of Robert Chase of Quincy,  Catherine (Chase) Doane and her husband David Doane of Quincy, and Edward Chase and his wife Jaquelin of Rockland.

She was the dear sister of Marion Flaherty, Rosaleen and Breedge Flaherty, Margaret Whelan and her late husband Tom all of Ireland. Sister in law to Fred Chase and his wife Lynette. Sister of the late Paddy, Bobby, Noel, Mae and her late husband Francis, Anne and her late husband Dano, Lilly and Patricia Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday, December 12th from 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9 am on Wednesday, December 13th prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10am. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
