Catherine A. Mcgaffigan

Catherine A. McGaffigan (DeVoe) of South Weymouth passed away on Friday, March 22, 2013 at the South Shore Hospital in South Weymouth. She was 74 years of age.

Beloved wife of the late Leo F. McGaffigan. Devoted mother of Francis McGaffigan of Weymouth, John McGaffigan married to Sheila of South Weymouth, Patricia Mattos married to John of Rockland and Danielle Robison married to Derek of South Weymouth. Predeceased by her loving siblings Jacqueline Young, June Fay, Richard DeVoe and Barbara DeVoe. Loving and caring grandmother of Megan, Jack and Michael McGaffigan, Gavin Mattos and Donovan and Delaney Robison who will miss her dearly. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Born, raised and educated in Dorchester, Catherine had lived in Weymouth since 1972. She had worked as a travel agent for Travel Pro. She was a devoted Catholic and attended church weekly. Catherine enjoyed traveling and shopping but most especially she enjoyed spending time with her children and her “greatest gift” her grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the McDonald Funeral Home, SOUTH WEYMOUTH, at 809 Main St. (Rte 18 opp. South Shore Hospital) Sunday afternoon 2:00-6:00pm. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Monday morning at 9:00 to be followed by a Funeral Mass in the St. Francis Xavier Church at 10:00am and burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Randolph.
