Catherine A. Downey

Downey, Catherine A.( McNeil ) of Hingham, September 17, 2010. Beloved wife of the late William F. Downey. Loving mother of Brian P. Downey of Hingham and William Downey and his wife Chris of Falmouth. Brother of Thomas McNeil of CT. and the late John McNeil. Cherished grandmother of Rachel Hardy Calabrese of Foxboro, Becky Hardy Cataldo of Tampa and the late Billy Downey, Jr. Catherine is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren. Catherine was born in Boston and was a graduate of Dorchester High School. She lived in Dorchester for many years before settling in Hingham where she lived for the past 46 years. Catherine enjoyed crossword puzzles, gardening and took a special pride in her home. She loved her dog “Mark” who was her companion for many years. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure to know her. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Monday, September 20, 2010 5- 7 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM.
