Leonard J. Caruso

Caruso, Leonard J. “Lenny” of Weymouth, died April 2, 2014.

Lenny was born, raised, and educated in Braintree. When he returned home after serving in the Navy during WWII Lenny settled down in Weymouth where he, and his wife Getrude E. (Sullivan) raised a family and remained through retirement. Lenny worked as a pipefitter and after retirement he enjoyed working at St. Jerome’s Church in Weymouth for many years. His large family always kept him busy and although he enjoyed many things he most enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Lenny was predeceased by his beloved wife of over 55 years Gertrude. Devoted father to Kevin T. Caruso of Weymouth, Cheryl A. Cardillo and her husband George of Weymouth, Mari-jayne McVay and her husband William of Weymouth, Nancy Clancy of Weymouth, John P. Caruso of Weymouth, Jacalyn Thurston and her husband Richard of Norwell, and the Late Leonard Caruso Jr. of Florida. Also survived by 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 3-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off RT.3A-Bicknell Sq.)  Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:30 AM Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM. Burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth to follow.
