Carroll O. Provost

Provost, Carroll O of Weymouth, died January 28, 2014.

Born and raised In Dexter, Maine. Mr. Provost worked for Boston Gear Works for 40 years as a senior engineer/tool designer. A decorated World War II veteran serving in the United States Army, Mr. Provost was recruited as an elite skier and mountaineer for the 10th Mountain Infantry in 1944. He fought courageously in the Apennine Mountains of Italy and received a bronze star and purple heart for valor in combat. He was an avid outdoorsman and lover of nature and wildlife, inventor, builder, and craftsman. He was also a member of the 10th Mountain Infantry Association. To family and friends he was admired for his intelligence, inventiveness, quiet strength and fortitude, keen wit, and humility.

Beloved husband of the late Ethel Provost for over 50 years. Loving father of Sharon P. Jarvie and her husband, Paul, of Quincy, Carolyn J. Ahern and her husband, David, of Tiverton, RI, William M. Provost and his wife, Janet of Scituate, Nancy Monahan of Marshfield and the late Robert Baker. Brother of Emily Davis of Jacksonville, Florida.  Also survived by 11 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Saturday from 10-11 AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital), followed by his Memorial service at 11AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warriors, P.O. Box, 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
