Carrie (Siroonian) Alemian

Mrs. Carrie Alemian (Siroonian) of Weymouth passed away peacefully at Pat Roche Hospice House in Hingham on Saturday, March 2, 2024. 

Born in Weymouth on March 29, 1927. Carrie was the second daughter of the late Humpartzoom and Nazenig Siroonian, first generation Armenian born in this country. 

She graduated from Weymouth High School and Fisher Junior College where she excelled in secretarial skills. Carrie married the late Hige Alemian and together they led a very full life in Weymouth enjoying many family pool parties and holidays with delicious homemade Armenian food. She mastered the art of cake decorating and was asked by all to make the family birthday cakes. Carrie worked for more than 20 years at Jordan Marsh Dept. store, volunteered at South Shore Hospital as well as all the town election voting polls. She also loved to perform in a woman’s Cabaret dance group and spent many winter months in Florida as well as time in Las Vegas, Foxwoods and Twin River. 

Carrie is survived by her loving children, Jerry Alemian and his wife Linda of East Bridgewater, Judy Dostoomian and her husband Hagop of Stoughton , Gail Cazeault of North Weymouth, and Kathy Kane and her husband Chris of Marshfield, cherished sister of Buddy Siroonian and the late Lucy Kalaijian both from Weymouth. Carrie was also grandmother to Kimberly the late “J.J.”, Eric, Carlie, Cory, Jeffrey, Matthew, Nicolas, Kyle, Abby, Molly, Justin, Lindsey,and Chelsie and 31 great grandchildren. 

Carrie will be remembered for her great sense of humor and her kind, gentle soul and her daily afternoon glass or two of wine. She will be missed by all of her many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. A special thank you to Kristine Liddell, her wonderful, loving caregiver, who provided exceptional care to her during her later years.

Carrie was one month shy of her 97th birthday and In lieu of a wake the family will be having a “Celebration of Life” at a later date. We look forward to honoring her memory.
