Carolyn M. Anderson

 Carolyn M. (Berry)  Anderson was born on Dec. 29, 1956. She grew up in Dorchester and graduated from St. Gregory’s High School via Girls’ Latin and Southie High. Right out of high school she went to work at John Hancock as a file clerk and worked her way up to Senior Systems Analyst. She eventually moved to Massachusetts Financial Services, where she worked as a senior network engineer.  Wherever she was, she surrounded herself with loving, faithful friends who were with her until the end. When we talked about her bucket list it was all about people she wanted to spend time with. No matter how sick she was, she never said no to a visit.   She loved to throw parties: family gatherings (especially Christmas Eve) and an epic annual birthday party for Lucy the dog. She loved children: her nieces and nephews and the children of her friends. She was so generous. She loved to give gifts and put so much thought and effort into them.   For 25 years she volunteered at Boston’s Children’s Hospital, holding and playing with sick children, and also at the Boston Marathon. She was there are on the day of the bombing, taking care of her volunteers and making sure everyone got out safely.  She loved music: concerts and shows alike. Two months before she died she dragged herself to New York City to see Wicked and to spend one last girls weekend with her friends.  She loved her animals: The cats Bud and Dud are with her for eternity and she fully expected that Lucy would greet her in Heaven.   She loved her husband Paul most of all. They made each other laugh. Both very competitive people, they were known to play backgammon to see who had to wash the dishes.   She had a good life. She worked hard, loved deeply, and fought off death with everything she had. In the end she went peacefully, ready to greet her beloved friends and family in heaven. Rest in peace, Ca. We will always love you.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM.

Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.
