O’Neil, Caroline M. (DeLuca), age 85 of Squantum passed away on October 12, 2015 following a brief illness.
Mrs. O’Neil was born in Boston. She attended Boston Public Schools graduating from Girls High School in 1948. She then graduated from Boston City Hospital School of Nursing in 1951. Mrs. O’Neil worked as a registered nurse at St. Joseph Hospital Wichita, KS, Boston City Hospital and Carney Hospital Emergency room for over 30 years retiring in 1992. Mrs. O’Neil served as a Girl Scout leader and as President of the Squantum Women’s Club. She enjoyed traveling to Europe and taking several Caribbean Cruises. Mrs. O’Neil was a gifted artist, gourmet cook and baker. She was a passionate crossword puzzle enthusiast and enthusiastic bridge player. After retirement, she volunteered taking blood pressures at the Kennedy Senior Center.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Philip J. O’Neil. Loving mother of Paul and his wife Janet O’Neil of Ellington, CT, Susan C. O’Neil and her partner John Breger of Guilford, CT and Claire and her husband Evan Makrinikolas of North Attleboro, MA. Devoted grandmother of Michael and Eric Tendler of Guilford, CT, Christine Marino of Danvers, Benjamin O’Neil and his partner Nina Botta of Moultonborough, NH and great grandson Anthony Michael O’Neil. Caring sister of Richard DeLuca and his partner Paula Barnicoat of Winthrop, Kenneth DeLuca and his wife Elaine of Wollaston, Christine and her husband Leonard Puccia of West Roxbury. Mrs. O’Neil is predeceased by brother John (Jack) DeLuca and his wife Helen of Squantum. Also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday, October 18, 2015 from 3-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. Celebration of life service will be celebrated on Monday, October 19, 2015 at 10 AM in Keohane Funeral Home, Quincy.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Mrs. O’Neil may be made to Father Bill’s Place, Development Office, 422 Washington St., Quincy, MA 02169.
