MacGillivray, Carole A. (Marshall) of Braintree, died February 23, 2021.  

Carole was a Registered Nurse and retired after working for many years at St. Margaret’s Hospital and South Shore Hospital.  She was a devoted Catholic and was a CCD teacher at St. Clare’s Church in Braintree.  Carole enjoyed hosting family parties and was known for her famous Christmas Eve open house.  She was a avid baker, a girl scout troop leader and a kind and giving woman.  Carole’s main passion in life was making other’s happy, especially her family.  She will be sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Beloved wife of 56 years to the late Robert A. MacGillivray.  Loving mother of Leanne Stevens and her husband Charles of Pembroke, Heather Bottary and her husband Stephen of Halifax and Pamela Zamagni and her husband Michael of Hanson.  Devoted Nannie of Jesse, Ashley, Matthew, Nikki, Tyler, Nicole, Erika and Stephen and her great grandchildren Hayden, Gavin and Isla.  Cherished sister of June Costello of Braintree, Paul Marshall of Scituate and the late William Marshall, late Mary Kucher and late Winnifred Miller.  Caring sister in law of Dorothy MacDonald, Gerald Kutcher, Dorothy Marshall and the late Chester Miller and late Charles Costello.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services and burial will be private. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Summer of 2021.  

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Carole may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. 

Normally, the funeral is an opportunity for the community to gather in support of one another. Although we cannot gather together with Carole’s family at this time, friends may still offer their support by sharing a special memory or message.
