Sapienza, Carolann (Dumont) of Quincy, formerly of Columbia Point Dorchester, died April 1, 2014, surrounded by her loving family.
Carolann’s family meant the world to her, especially her cherished grandchildren. She was always present for her family whether at family celebrations or the grandchildren’s numerous activities. Nana was always available for support and encouragement. She and her husband James enjoyed frequent trips to Las Vegas, where she played games of roulette and bingo. Generous by nature, she supported many of her favorite charities in order to make other people’s lives better. She took pleasure in her work as a Certified Nursing Assistant because it allowed her to care for people who really needed her. Carolann could be silly and enjoyed making people laugh. For those just getting to know her, once she warmed up to a person, you gained a true friend for life.
Beloved wife of James R. Sapienza of Quincy. Loving mother of Nicole Sapienza with Mark Carey of Quincy, and James Sapienza and his wife Susie of Saugus. Nana to Brittany, Mia, Chase, Luca and Nico. Daughter in law of Mary L. Sapienza of Dorchester. Also survived by several sisters, brothers, nieces, and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 10:15 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 11 AM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
Donations in memory of Carolann may be made to Families of Spinal Muscular Atrophy, 925 Busse Road, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007.
