Carol S. Kershaw, a cherished wife, mother, nana, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on June 14, 1958, Carol's life was a tapestry of love, dedication, and creativity, woven with the threads of family, work, and passion.
Carol's journey began as a beloved wife to Mark B. Kershaw, with whom she shared 45 years. Carol's legacy as a loving mother is carried on by her children: Kathryn Schreiber and her husband Andrew of Marshfield, Michael Kershaw and his wife Catherine of Medfield, Gregory Kershaw and his wife Tania of Washington D.C., Pamela Nevins and her partner Padraig O’Donnell of Pembroke, and stepson Mark W. Kershaw and his partner Amy of Texas.
Carol's role as a sister was equally significant, providing support and companionship to her siblings: Linda Carey and her late husband Dennis of Holbrook, Rita Chesterly and her husband David of Florida, Audrey Tracia and her husband John of Weymouth, and Jack Sullivan and his wife Denise of Walpole. She was predeceased by her sister Kathleen Carey and her late husband John.
The title of Nana was one Carol wore with pride and immense love. Her seven grandchildren—Hailey Nevins, Cole Nevins, Brendan Schreiber, Carson Schreiber, Wesley Kershaw, Ruby Kershaw, and Lucy Kershaw—were the light of her life.
Carol earned her Associate’s degree from Mass Bay Community College. Her academic achievements laid the groundwork for a successful career as a self-employed courtroom stenographer, a role she performed with excellence for over 20 years. Her professionalism and skill in this field were widely respected by her peers and the legal community.
Beyond her professional life, Carol's interests and talents were diverse and heartfelt. She was the family seamstress, a role that saw her crafting beautiful wedding dresses, prom dresses, and quilts with a precision and care that could only come from a place of love. Carol's companionship with her dog Charlie Brown Bear Coffee Table and her grandpups was a source of comfort and joy.
Carol's commitment to holistic healing was evident through her involvement with the Tong Ren Healing Community, where she both sought and provided support.
Above all, Carol's life was characterized by the time she spent with her grandchildren and her family.
