Carol E. Torrey

Carol E. (Putnam) Torrey of Hull, 82, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2016.

Devoted daughter of the late Ruth (Helfenstein) and Charles Putnam. Beloved wife of 58 years to the late Roger A. Torrey, Sr. Loving mother of Carol T. Casey and her late husband Timothy P., Jr. of Weymouth, Roger A. of Attleboro, and David C. of Hull, and “adopted daughter” Patty Young Gilbrook of Hull. Cherished grandmother, “Gammy,” of Jillian T. Casey of Weymouth. Dear sister of Nancy Robinson and her husband Bobby of South Boston, and of the late June Ferris, Barbara Wynn, and Charles Putnam. Carol is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and loving friends.

Carol was a long-time employee of Stop & Shop, retiring in 2013 from the Hingham location. She loved to go out to dinner with her girlfriends and play the penny slots at Foxwoods.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 2-5 PM with a closing prayer service at 5 PM in the McDonald Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Rte 3A-Bicknell Sq.). Burial services will be private.
