Carol A. Shea

Carol A.  Shea of Quincy, formerly of South Boston, died March 2, 2017 her 74th birthday.  The beloved mother and best friend of Suzanne (Shea) Monahan and her husband John of Squantum. Loving sister of Rick Shea and Patricia Carter both of South Boston and Robert Shea of Brockton and the late Peggy Phillipson and John J. Shea. Cherished Nana to Matthew and Mark Monahan of Squantum. Carol is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Carol was raised in Roxbury, her childhood was rich with family tradition, which would later become the foundation for all that was important to her. She worked as a payroll manager for the Mitre Corporation and later for the Pappas Company in South Boston and finished her career at the Houghton Mifflin Publishing Company in Boston. Throughout her life she enjoyed shopping, traveling, spending time at the beach and truly enjoyed the company of children. The essence of her life was her family, she was devoted to each of them. Carol will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, grandmother and aunt who brought grace and style to the lives she touched, so characteristically of the way she lived her life. Although her family is heartbroken over her loss, they feel fortunate for all the blessings she brought into their lives.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:45 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10:30 AM.

Cremation will follow.
