Carol A. Doyle

Born in Cohasset, MA on August 10, 1938 to Elizabeth M. and John W. Orcutt, Carol attended Hingham Schools, was co-captain of the high school field hockey team and graduated in 1956. She attended Springfield College and was married to the late James R. Doyle.

Carol will be remembered by many Hinghamites as a swim instructor at North Beach and the Bathing Beach. She worked a variety of catering and waitressing jobs over the years and served as a customer service representative for Talbots for more than 20 years.

Carol was always the life of the party and she especially loved celebrating the Fourth of July. She loved golf, the beach and traveling.  She was an active member of St. Paul’s parish and volunteered her time at the Hingham Senior Center.

Carol’s sense of humor will be missed by her many friends and the world will be a bit quieter and less joyful without her.

Left with fond memories are her three children Tamara A Handrahan and husband Jeff of Hingham. Her son, J. Michael Doyle and his wife Shelley of Duxbury and her daughter Laurie Kelly and her husband Brian of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. Nine grandchildren, Patrick and his wife Katelyn; Sean, Becky and Jake Handrahan;  Brady, Connor and Mikey Doyle; Emma and Katya Kelly and her great granddaughter Maisie Kay.  Her beloved sister Jeanne Brady of Scituate and several nieces, nephews, many cousins and her dog Tag also survive her.

Carol’s family invites you to join in a celebration of her life by respectfully inviting relatives and friends to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday from 4-8pm in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.) Hingham. A Celebration of LIfe Service will be held on Wednesday at 9:15 in the funeral home prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Wednesday at 10am. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham.
