Brewer, Carol A. (Betts) of Weymouth, formerly of Hull, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 29, 2021. Carol was born July 23, 1936 in Chelsea to Cecelia (D’Amore) Betts and Alfred Betts. She moved to Weymouth where she was raised by Cecelia and Keith Marston and graduated from Weymouth High School in 1955. Carol went on to graduate from Shepherd Gill Nursing School. She worked as an LPN for South Shore Hospital and Home Healthcare for many years. Carol enjoyed sewing, knitting and gardening. She spent much time knitting hats and blankets for babies in the hospital. In 1978 Carol married John Brewer and they settled in Hull where they enjoyed many walks on the beach. Their love of travel brought them to many places, their favorite being Italy. Carol and John were active members of St. Mary of Assumption in Hull where they served as Eucharistic Ministers. Carol was also an active member of the Third Order of Mary.
Beloved wife of the late John T. Brewer. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by brother Robert Betts and wife Barbara and brother Paul Betts and wife Ada. She is survived by her brother Gary Marston and his wife Frances of Kentucky. She was the loving Aunt to many nieces and nephews, including nieces Linda Kennedy of Braintree, Patti Betts of Hanson, and Kathy Miller and Deb Nord of Hanover, who cared for her during her later years. She will especially be missed by her longtime childhood friend Joan Henderson and her cousin Eileen Stott.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday, June 8th, 8:30 AM -10:30 AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street). A Funeral Mass will follow in St. Albert the Great Church, Weymouth at 11 AM. Burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth.
