LoPresti, Carmella (Millie), 93 of Weymouth, MA died September 5 at her home surrounded by family.

Born in Jersey City, NJ on July 16, 1924. She was the daughter of Giuseppe and Julia Pepe. She received her bachelor’s degree from Salem Teacher’s College and then her master’s degree at Boston State. She was the first female married teacher in the city of Quincy. In 1983, she purchased the John Adams School House and made it into a daycare. Millie also wrote a book on all 58 covered bridges in New Hampshire and was a member of the Weymouth Senior Center Writing Club. As a longtime summer resident of Meredith, NH along with her husband Joseph, they operated Meredith Heights Gift Shop on Rte 3 until 1985. After retiring, she enjoyed her later years at her lake home on Needle Eye Road. Millie was a strong and innovative woman who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Predeceased by her daughter Marian LoPresti, also of Meredith, NH. Millie is survived by her husband of 65 years Joseph of Weymouth, MA, her daughter Joan and her husband Paul Rees of Meredith, NH, her daughter Carol and her husband Kevin Jonas of Bedford, NH, and her son Joseph and daughter in law Lori of East Hampstead, NH. Loving sister of William Pepe, Betty Emde, and predeceased by 5 siblings. Beloved grandmother Paul S. Rees of Portland ME, Kelsey J. Rees of Londonderry, NH, Brenda A. Rees of Quincy, MA, Specialist Thomas Rees of Fort Hood, TX, Morgan M. Jonas of Bedford, NH, Amanda E. Jonas of Bedford, NH, Cameron J. Jonas of Bedford, NH, Meredith K. LoPresti of East Hampstead, NH, J. Ryan LoPresti of East Hampstead, NH, and Anna M. LoPresti of East Hampstead, NH. Also sister, aunt, and mother in law to countless family members.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 11 AM Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Weymouth at 12 PM. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Weymouth.
