Carmela S. Cassidy

Carmela S. (Salerno) Cassidy, of Weymouth, passed away July 23, 2021.

Carmela was born in Boston to the late Vito and Isabella Salerno. She grew up in Dorchester, later moving to Weymouth in 1960 to raise her family. Carmela was a devoted mother and Nonnie, and always put her family first. She worked for many years at Goulston & Storrs, rising to be the Lead Administrator for the firm. Carmela was a sweet and intellectual woman and very down to earth with a quick sense of humor. She loved to spend time down the Cape with her family in the nice weather, especially at Swan Pond with her sister and best friend Lee. Carmela will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of having her in their lives.

Beloved wife of the late James J. Cassidy, Sr. Loving mother of James J. Cassidy Jr. and Susan of McLean, VA, Bob V. Cassidy and Evelyn of Charlestown, Marie Biasetti and Enrico of Hingham, Steve Cassidy and Karen of Hingham, and Dan C. Cassidy of Weymouth. Dear sister of Lee Salerno of Dennisport and the late Julio Salerno. Cherished Nonnie of Andrew, Justin, Katherine, Jacqueline, Caroline, Joseph, William, and Reagan. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Friday 9-11 AM.

Funeral service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Friday at 11 AM.

Burial will follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Weymouth.
