Carl F. Schuster, Jr.

Carl F. Schuster Jr., “Bucky”, of Cohasset, formerly of Weymouth, Randolph, and Fall River, passed away unexpectedly on November 6, 2024, at the age of 67.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, the late Carl and Dorothy Schuster. He was the loving father of Danielle Schuster and her fiance Mark Dyszczyk of Raymond, NH, Ryan Schuster of East Boston, Arielle Hitchcock and her husband Ryan of Abington, Nathan Schuster and his wife Tori of Maine, and Dylan Schuster and his wife Rachel of Hanson. Dear brother of Jeanne Schuster and her husband Richard Bartley of Abington, and predeceased by his sister Mary Schuster Kennedy. “Papa Buck” was loved by his eight grandchildren: Cassandra, Nathan Jr., Aubrey, Azalea, Damien, Charles, Abigail, Clara, and a ninth on the way. He was also very excited for his first great-grandson who also is on the way. He is survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Carl served as a U.S. Marine serving from 1976-77. After earning his Associate's degree from Northeastern University, he spent 30 years as a proud member of Ironworkers Local 7 where he was honored as Apprentice of the Year. Carl also worked for several years at Boyden’s Landscaping. It wasn't just his work that defined him. Carl loved dogs and was every dog’s favorite human, especially all of all of his grand-pups, and his "favorite son" Buju (who also passed away earlier this year).

He also enjoyed boating and being outdoors. He could be found at the yacht club on a nice summer day tinkering with or driving boats at Town River, Beechmont, Boston Harbor Shipyard, and Marina D-Dock. His children will always remember the exploring trips he took them on, from state parks to towers and the infamous trip where the children walked through “quick sand” to his dismay, coming out covered in dark smelly mud. He was a talented self-taught musician, and played the guitar, bass and even spent some time on the banjo.

To say Carl was a free spirit is an understatement. He danced to the beat of his own guitar, often literally, and encouraged everyone around him to do the same. His absence will leave a void in the hearts of those who loved him, but the echoes of his laughter will resonate forever.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 3-6 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A private burial at sea will be held at a later date.
