Capt. William “Billy” E. Crooker, III, 48, died unexpectedly in Hampton, VA July 7, 2013.
Billy was born, raised, and educated in Boston, MA but moved to Hampton, VA 15 years ago to continue his career, and more importantly, his love of flying. William was a pilot with Atlas Air for 14 years. He was a member of AOPA, Quiet Birdman (holding a prestigious title), the International Cessna 195 Club, the Military Aviation Museum, and the Hampton Yacht Club. Billy will be remembered for his charismatic attitude and willingness to help anyone. Although he loved his life and flying, his true passion was spending time with his family.
Beloved husband of Stacey L. Crooker, devoted father of William E. Crooker IV and Rachel Rose Crooker. Loving son of William E. Crooker II and Barbara G. Linn, Brother to Nayda B. Orsini. Billy is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH (route 18 opposing South Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 10 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church in Quincy at 11 AM. Donations may be made in Billy’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project at 370 7th Avenue, Suite 1802 New York, New York 10001. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in West Roxbury.
