Cancian, Calvin O., of Quincy, formerly of Belmont, died on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at the Hancock Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness. Beloved husband of 31 years to Elaine (Willett) Cancian of Quincy. Loving son of the late Ottavio Cancian and Emma (Dahlgren) Cancian. Also survived by many extended family members and close friends. A special thank you to all the compassionate staff members at Hancock Park. Calvin was born in Winthrop and spent many years in Belmont before moving to Quincy 31 years ago. He was an accountant for John Hancock Life Insurance and Blue Cross & Blue Shield, retiring in 1978. He was a Freemason and belonged to several Shriner Lodges, including the Allepo Shriner’s of Wilmington, the Simon W. Robinson Lodge of Lexington and was a Scottish Rite Mason. He was an avid sports fan and had a great sense of humor. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, QUINCY on Friday, September 17, 2010 from 2-4 PM and 6-7 PM followed by a funeral service at 7 PM. Cremation to follow. Donations in memory of Calvin may be made to the Hancock Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Ctr., Resident Activity Fund, 164 Parkingway, Quincy, MA 02269.
