Mrs. C. Rose (Dooner) Charland of Orleans, died peacefully on July 27, 2020, surrounded by her daughter and grandchildren.
She was the beloved wife of the late William Charland.
Loving mother of Julie Charland and her significant other, Rob Stevenson of Orleans, and Deborah Charland of Bourne. Sister of Helen Dooner of Braintree, Michael Dooner of Weymouth, and the late, Regina Senkel, Paul Dooner, Ann Snow, Joseph Dooner, and Margaret “Peggy” Keyes. Grandmother of Julius Wanamaker of Florida, and Shannon and Jake Wanamaker both of Orleans. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Rose was a remarkable beauty with a movie star smile. She was a kind, loving soul whose sweetness and laughter touched everyone she met. She never lost her Jamaica plain cheerleading spirit, as she lit up the room with enthusiasm and vigor.
She danced, sang, taught an occasional exercise class at the YMCA, won an award from the patriot ledger for her “healthy Waldorf salad” and her cream puffs were legendary. She was a poet who also submitted socially conscious articles to the newspaper when inspired. She had a lifelong pursuit of music; patiently studying the piano, violin, guitar, accordion and her last instrument, the ukulele.
Although her interests were many, the core of her existence was her family- her crowning jewels- her adored grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4 PM-6 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).
