C. Gisella Oppedisano

C. Gisella Oppedisano, age 59, of Norwell, departed suddenly and unexpectedly on December 8 of a major cardiac event. Gisella was Executive Assistant to Mr. Paul DiMaura of Hillside Management Company for over twenty-five years. She was a graduate of Hull High School, and attended Saint Michael’s College in Winooski, Vermont, as well as Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. She had graduate studies at Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, where she taught courses in Elementary Italian. She was an accomplished linguist, speaking five languages.

In the past years, she was also a realtor with the Jack Conway Company, and had recently earned the honor of Top Listing Agent for the Norwell office.

She had planned to be in Honduras in January for her third mission trip, being very involved in her charitable work for Mission Honduras through the First Baptist Church in Hingham. She served as co-treasurer for the organization, and contributed regularly to her other favorite charities, the American Indian Foundation and the Disabled Veterans of America. Gisella loved God and country, and was a parishioner at St. Paul Parish in Hingham.

She loved cooking and was known for feeding her boys and their friends, usually pancakes on Saturday morning, and a large pot of spaghetti and meatballs on Friday night. She had a lovely yard in which she took great pride, which showcased a variety of flowers and plants.

She will be remembered for her exuberant spirit, love of family, and love of all people.

Cherished fiancé of Alwyn Velasquez of Cambridge. Beloved mother of Lucas Paul Nigro and Alexander Joseph Nigro of Norwell, and devoted mother to stepchildren Katie Nigro and Paul Nigro, Jr.  Cherished aunt to Andrea Peraino of Vineyard Haven, John Peraino of Hingham, and Lucy McRae-Tarpley of Bonita Springs, Florida. Daughter of the late Julia and Saverio Oppedisano of Hull, sister to Maria Oppedisano Peraino of Hingham, and sister to Joseph A. Oppedisano and his wife Leticia McRae-Tarpley of Bonita Springs.
