Brian Owens

Brian Eric Owens, aged 50, passed away surrounded by his loving family in a room full of music on August 9th.

Born and raised in South Boston, Brian attended Boston College High School and Franklin Pierce College, where he used his charms in many ways, particularly captivating crowds of theater-goers.  He was a proud Marine, regaling us with tales of jumping from helicopters and snorkeling in Okinawa, as well as fronting the biggest Irish band on the island.

As you can tell, Brian loved life.  He lived it big, proud and loud.  He loved his girls, and would plan so many adventures with them.  He loved to paint, sing, dance, cook and all of those things which brighten and liven a room.

Brian was a man of huge passion, first and foremost for his family; daughters Deirdre, Ceili and Saoirse Owens; all of whom he loved deeply.  His parents, Bob and Gerry Owens of Quincy, his sister, Susan Owens and her partner Chris Westerman, and brother Chris Owens and his wife Melissa Owens; all of whom were fortunate to share long talks and big laughs with Brian.  Brian’s partner, Theresa Hillery, with whom he shared an epic 50th Birthday Disney Extravaganza, and her children Addison and Jackson.  Ben and June Owens, his nephew and niece who were lucky to swim, sing, and be goofy with Brian, and many dear aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

We would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to the nurses and medical staff at Mass General Hospital who worked so hard for Brian and made sure the music or TV were always on.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Saturday 2-6 pm in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.  Cremation will follow.
