Brian J. Glynn of Hingham, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2025. Son of the late Joseph A. Glynn, Sr. and Ruth M. (King) Glynn. Beloved partner of 21 years to Susan McLaughlin of Hingham. Brother of Michael Glynn and his partner Elaine of Weston, Mary Thomas and her husband James of Houston, TX, Anne Glynn and Joe Glynn, Jr. both of Weston, Ruth Favorat and her husband Douglas of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Elizabeth Gray and her husband Rich of Venice, FL and Joan Glynn of Lyman, SC . Dear Nephew of Sr. Bernice King, SNDdeN of Worcester. Brother in Law of Robin McLaughlin of Scarborough, ME, Kim McLaughlin and her late husband Rick of Amherst, NH, Sherri Mancini and her husband Tony of Lynnfield, Lisa Gibbons and her husband David of Saco, ME, Kelly McLaughlin of Hull and Jennnifer Miller and her husband Michael of Framingham. Cherished Uncle of Sarah, Leah, Alyssa, Michelle, Ricky, Kelsey, Michael, Amanda, Anthony, Emma, Adam, Joan, Katherine and Andrew and Godfather of Abigail. Brian is also survived by several great nieces and nephew and many dear friends.
Brian was born on July 22, 1954. He grew up in Waltham and Weston and was educated in Weston public schools and Xavier High School in Concord, MA. He earned a Bachelor’s degree from Babson College in 1976. Brian followed in his father’s footsteps and became the owner of the Joseph A. Glynn Insurance Agency in Waltham until his retirement in 2021. Brian enjoyed spending winters in Palm Beach playing golf and watching the sunsets and boats sail by. Brian was an avid golfer and hockey player. He was a member of Plymouth Country Club for more than 40 years. He enjoyed a recent golf trip to Ireland with his friends. Brian also loved the game of hockey. He played hockey on Thursday nights for more than 30 years. He cherished the friendships he made throughout the years in both hockey and golf. Brian will be sadly missed by all those who were fortunate to have known him.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Friday, Feb. 21 from 4-7 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Saturday, Feb. 22 prior to the Funeral Mass in Church of the Resurrection, Hingham at 10 AM. Burial in a Hingham Centre Cemetery.
