Brian D. Ferullo

Brian D. Ferullo, 48,  died suddenly  on November 6.

Beloved son of the late Donald F. Ferullo and Mary K. (Ryan) Ferullo,  Brian was born and raised in South Weymouth where he enjoyed Babe Ruth baseball, pitched for Weymouth South, and will be sorely missed by the network of gentlemen who have been his closest buddies since Little League and remain his closest friends today.

He graduated from Suffolk University and passed the CPA exam while beginning work at Arthur Anderson’s Boston office.  After five years, he began a sixteen year career at Vitale Caturano and Company where he quickly advanced to partner, specializing in taxation.  His outgoing nature and business initiative  endeared him to clients and colleagues and he made many  friends. He enjoyed global  travel in a leadership role in the Baker Tilly Newman international network of  independent accountancy and business services firms.  He was recruited  as a Vice President of Finance at Advent International where he worked for the next two years and later  joined Baker Newman Noyes in Boston. He was beginning a new position at the time of his death.

Brian’s favorite role was proud and loving Dad to Ryan Margaret Ferullo, 13, and C.J.(Carolyn Jane) Ferullo, 11.  He built his life around his girls and being a present, involved father from the horse barn to the gymnastics gym.   He married the love of his life, Karen Van de Water, in 1998.  The family traveled the world and spent many happy seasons at Newfound Lake at their log home on the mountain, built  by the handiwork of Brian, his friends and his father.

He is also survived by his sisters, Jeanine Ferullo Adams of Hanson, Donna M. Ferullo of Watertown, niece and nephew Heather and Greg Adams, his caring and mentoring aunts  and uncles from the Ryan and Ferullo families, and the many Ryan, Ferullo and Andrea cousins who will remember the bright light he was in their lives. Brian is also survived and supported into heaven by his large network of caring and true friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday from 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home South Weymouth (Route 18 across from South Shore Hospital).  Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 10:30 AM prior to the funeral Mass at St. Francis Xavier at 11:30 AM.
