Tautvaisas, Bonaventura of Quincy, February 7, 2006. Beloved husband of Lillian M. (Paledzus) Tautvaisas of Quincy. Loving father of Raymond Tautvaisas of Quincy, Susan and her husband Patrick Mullin of Weymouth and the late Peter Tautvaisas. Born in Zagare, Lithuania. After WWII, he emigrated from Germany to England, where he was employed as Chief of Quality Control at the Kaiser Bonder Hosiery Co. While there he designed stockings for the then Queen Mother, Queen Mary. He came to the U.S. in 1953 and was employed for several years in the Mechanical Engineering Department at M.I.T. Later, he was employed for 20 years with the Kendall Co., where he received a U.S. patent and 20 international patents. Upon retirement, he became a snowbird, spending much of his time in St. Petersburg. He enjoyed singing and was a member of the Boston Men’s Chorus in South Boston and the St. Kasimer Church Choir in Brockton. When in St. Petersburg, he sang in the Lithuanian American Club Chorus and Choir. He had many other interests and hobbies; world-travel, reading, crossword puzzles, sailing and boat-building. Always eager to learn and expand his knowledge, he enjoyed surfing the internet. He was a member of the So. Boston Lithuanian-American Citizens Association as well as the Knights of Columbus. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON, Tuesday at 11:15 AM. Graveside Service in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree at 12:30 PM. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:15 AM to 12:15 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mr. Tautvaisas may be made to Make A Wish Foundation of Massachusetts, One Bulfinch Place, 2nd Floor Boston, MA 02114.
