Bogumil J. “Bob” Kmiec

Bogumil J. “Bob” Kmiec, of Dorchester, died peacefully on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at Accent Care Inpatient Hospice Center in Milton. He was 75.

Bob was born in Augustdorf, Germany on January 16, 1948 and was the son of the late Bronislaw and Janina (Gluzinska) Kmiec.

Bob was a passionate and technically adept photographer. He distinguished himself while working for both Paygar and Miller Studios in Boston before forming his own successful studio practice buoyed by the support of his wife and children. In addition to his creative business pursuits, Bob applied his technical expertise as a CAD Technician at companies including G.T.E and Raytheon.

Bob was the beloved husband of Elsie M. (Oliver) Kmiec of Dorchester. They were married for 53 years. He was the devoted father of Robert G. Kmiec and his wife Sonya of Washington and Janielle M. Newland and her husband Christopher of Weymouth. Bob was the loving grandfather of Cyprus J. Kalenderian of Washington, Nina L. Kmiec of Washington, and Cedar M. Kmiec of Washington. He was the dear brother of Jan Kmiec and his wife Stephanie of Waltham, and Peter Kmiec and his wife Judy of Hopkinton. Bob is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, 9-11 AM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.

His funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at 11 AM in Keohane Funeral Home, Quincy. Cremation will follow. Interment will be private.
