Beverly Marie Howland

Beverly "Bev" Howland, a beacon of love and laughter, passed away peacefully after a courageous two-year battle with cancer, surrounded by the family she cherished above all. She was 62.

Born in Boston in 1961, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Gentile) Orsie.

Bev's journey began at Bay Pointe Marina in Quincy, where she met the love of her life Ken, marking the start of a beautiful 29-year marriage. Ken and Bev proceeded to have two children, Abby and Zach, fulfilling Bev’s lifelong dream of having her own loving family. Bev was surrounded and cared for by her loved ones until her last moments.

The endless laughter that filled Bev's home was a testament to her sense of humor. She was known for her funny and gullible nature, often at the center of pranks and jokes that brought joy to any gathering.

Bev's generosity knew no bounds. She was constantly supporting local food pantries and toy drives, once buying over 36 different Barbie’s to ensure children in need could experience the joy of play. Her spirit of giving extended to her love for stuffed animals, a collection that brought her comfort and smiles in her hardest days. There was not a day that went by that Bev did not put others before herself.

Growing up on the South Shore, Bev loved being by the water. Sailing with her husband Ken while they were dating and eventually with her two children brought Bev the utmost joy.

Bev could be found most often shopping. Whether it be shopping for groceries to provide for her family or décor to fill her beautiful home, Bev loved the retail experience. Something she shared most closely with her daughter Abby.

Bev's love for baking was renowned among her friends and family, who will deeply miss her gluten-free chocolate chip cookies, pumpkin bread, and especially her peanut butter balls. Her talents in baking were just one of the many ways she expressed her care for others and how she found peace for herself. The catalyst for her love of baking was a diagnosis of Celiac Disease for her and her son. Bev went to the ends of the earth to make sure Zach had every gluten free treat he wanted to enjoy. Bev demonstrated pure resilience mastering the gluten-free version of a recipe. Her sole focus was nourishing her family in every way.

An eco-conscious soul, Bev cared deeply about the world and the impact she had on it. She was passionate in her beliefs, advocating for a healthier planet and a kinder humanity. Her career as a Human Resource Compensation Manager showcased her ability to connect with people, a skill she later dedicated full-time to her most cherished role as a mom.

Above all, her children were her entire world. All she ever wanted in life was a family, and in her children, she found her greatest accomplishment and joy. Her love for them was boundless, her dedication unwavering.

Bev's life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of the human spirit. She took care of everyone else before herself, a true embodiment of selflessness. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her legacy of love, laughter, and passion will live on.

Beverly Howland's memory will be cherished and celebrated by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her infectious laugh, her warm embrace, and her indomitable spirit will never be forgotten. Bev's life was a lesson in love, and she will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were touched by her generous heart.

Loving wife to Kenneth Howland. Cherished mother to Abigail and Zachary Howland. Beloved sister to Judy Orsie and Jack Orsie and his wife Christine. Doting Bunny- Mom to her companion Max. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
