Betty Farrugia

Farrugia, Betty (McHale), age 65 of Bourne, formerly of Scituate and Hingham, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 9, 2005. Betty was the beloved mother to daughters, Wendy Burke of Hingham, Kim Wakefield of Pympton, and son Scott Farrugia of Parkland, FL. She is survived by her mother, Edna Wharton of Charlotte, NC, her sisters Barbara Isaac of Oakland, CA and Nancy Hurd of Charlotte, NC, Pat Battis of Enfield, NH, Karen Dorobelia of Nashville, TN, brother James McHale of Auburndale, 11 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 172 Main Street, Hingham. Burial will follow in Fort Hill Cemetery, Hingham. In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty’s memory may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 20 Walnut St., Suite 318, Wellesley Hills, MA 02481. Betty loved her family, was a beautiful singer, nurse, musician, counselor, massage therapist, and a member of the Red Hat Society. She was currently working as a registered nurse at the Village of Duxbury Nursing Home, where she had been employed for the last 10 years. She attended Chapel Hill School and received her RN degree in North Carolina. Betty was an organ donor who has brought life to four recipients because of her giving spirit.
