McKenna, Bertha M. (Morrissey) of Quincy, originally Dorchester, died January 4, 2021.
Bertha graduated from St. Gregory’s High School in 1945 and worked for the City of Boston as one of the original crossing guards at the Patrick O’Hearn. She adored her family and was famous for her biscuits and molasses cookies. She was a devout Catholic and parishioner at St. Ann’s for many years. Bertha loved to sing and dance a jig to Irish music while entertaining her children and grand children. She frequently delivered Meals on Wheels. Bertha had a great sense of humor and she was famous for countless humorous sayings . She was a sweet, kind, generous and supportive woman who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Beloved wife of the late James E. McKenna. Loving mother of Gordon McKenna of Texas, Allen McKenna and his wife Cathy of Foxboro, Donna Cammarata and her husband Joseph of Dedham, Deborah Fitzgerald and her husband James of Milton, and Helen Tarantino of CA, Cherished sister to Gordon Morrissey and his wife Helen of Braintree, Jean Ward and husband Jack of Quincy, and the late Lillian Taglieri and Helen Davey. Cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Sarah Morrissey. Also survived by 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral Mass Monday in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10:30 AM and it will also be live streamed here on her obituary. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bertha may be made to
