Bernard J. Crowley

Bernard J. Crowley of Weymouth, passed on January 22, 2023.  He was 76 years old.

Bernie was born in Boston on October 18, 1946 to the late William and Anne Mildred (Burt) Crowley. He grew up in Charlestown and attended Boston English High School. After graduation he attended Boston State College where he received a bachelor’s degree. He continued to earn his master’s degree in business at Suffolk University. Bernard was also a proud Air Force Sargent, having served in the Vietnam War. Bernie met his future bride, Vivian, in the early 1970’s while they both worked at Bank of Boston. The pair married in 1976, moved to Weymouth 3 years later, and would grow their family to include their beloved children Lisa and Stephen. Bernie would spend his career as a mutual fund manager at Bank of Boston and later at Putnam Investments. He also taught finance classes for the Continuing Education program at Northeastern University. Bernie enjoyed spending time with his family and pursing his passion, the game of golf. He was also an avid history buff, specifically interested in World War II. Bernie became a grandfather in 2019 and his grandchildren would light up his life.

Cherished husband of Vivian Crowley of Weymouth. Loving father of Lisa (Crowley) Evans and her husband Craig of Weymouth as well as Stephen Crowley and his wife Julianne of Milton. Proud Grandpa to Poppy and Henry Evans of Weymouth. Beloved brother of William Crowley and brother-in-law of Phyllis Contestabile. Bernie is also survived by his precious pup, Chloe.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to join the family for a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, January 30th, 2023 at 10:30 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church, 720 Broad Street, Weymouth 02189. Burial will follow in the Milton Cemetery, Milton.
