Bernadette Patricia Warwick

Bernadette Patricia (Basius) Warwick, of Weymouth, passed away on April 18, 2025. She was 91.

Originally from Jamaica Plain, Bernadette was a graduate of Girls Latin School and Boston State College. After raising her family in South Boston, Bernadette moved to Stoughton and traveled extensively including to Egypt and China. Before retiring she was a vice president with Tremont Credit Union. In addition to traveling, Bernadette enjoyed singing with her church choir, epic games of Scrabble, and spending time with her large extended family. A voracious reader throughout her life, her favorite genres were mystery and historical fiction. She was especially proud of her ability to recall passages from books she had read while a student at Girls Latin.

Mother of William F. Warwick (Emma) of Virginia Beach, VA; Michael W. Warwick, Sr (Katie), of Garden City, MI; Peter S. Warwick (Jane), of Weymouth, MA; Paul J. Warwick (Lori), of Orlando, FL; and Mary B. Warwick of Newmarket, NH.

Sister of Kathryn MacGillvary of Charleston, SC

Predeceased by her parents, Frank L. Basius Sr and Mary T. Basius (nee McDermott), beloved stepmother Madeline Branch, siblings Marie Ridge (Tom), Frank Basius Jr. (Marie), and Jack Basius (Ann).

Also survived by 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

Although she enjoyed excellent health throughout her life, like many others, cancer impacted her life through those she loved. In lieu of flowers, those who would like to make a donation in Bernadette's memory should make it to StandUp2 Cancer.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Friday 5/2/2025 from 9-10 AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A - Bicknell Square), followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth, MA at 10:30 AM.
