Bernadette M. Higgins

Higgins, Bernadette M. (Shatas) of Wareham, passed away December 8, 2011 after a brief illness. Beloved wife of Richard Higgins of Wareham. Loving mother of Mary Lou Costello of Plymouth, Sean Cafferty of San Francisco, Al Cafferty of Whitman, Susann Seafuse of Wareham and the late Christine Cafferty. Stepmother of Stephen Higgins of Washington, Kathy Michitson of Haverhill, Richard Higgans Jr. of Navada, Gregory Higgins of Haverhill and Claire Higgins of Weymouth. Devoted sister of Al Shatas and his wife Judy of Bourne. Bernadette is also lovingly survived by 18 grandchildren. Bernadette worked as a Registered Nurse at South Shore Collaborative in Hingham for the past 12 years. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and home decorating projects. Bernadette is remembered by her family as being a very caring and giving person who loved spending time with her family who were the center of her life. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham.
