Barry R. Kiely, 69, of Hingham, lost his battle with cancer on October 1, 2021.
A native of Hingham, Barry graduated from Archbishop Williams High School in Braintree. He received his B.S in Accounting from Bentley University and his MBA in International Finance from Suffolk University. He also attended The Wharton School executive program at the University of Pennsylvania.
Barry began his finance career with State Street Bank & Trust later expanding into sales, financing, and strategic distribution for companies such as Prime Computer, EMC, and IBM. He retired from IBM in 2020 after 18 years. In his spare time, Barry was an avid sailor and boater, volunteer at the New England Center for Homeless Veterans in Boston, and active in the St. Paul/Resurrection Collaborative in Hingham.
Barry is survived by his wife of 42 years, Susan (Clancy) and three sons: Brian R. Kiely, II (Jessica) of Marshfield; Stephen C. Kiely (Jessica) of Weymouth; and Kevin M. Kiely (Maria) of Portland, OR.; and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by his twin brother, Very Rev. Brian R. Kiely of Weston; his sister Camille M. Kelleher of New York City; and brother Mark S. Kiely, also of New York City. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. James and Anita Kiely and his brother James J. Kiely Jr.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited greet the family during the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 10 AM Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Church of the Resurrection, Hingham at 11 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. The family requests that everyone please wear a mask. In lieu of flowers, please support the New England Center for Homeless Veterans (17 Court St. Boston) or the St. Paul/Resurrection Collaborative (147 North St. Hingham).
