Barbara M. O’Leary

O’LEARY, Barbara (Scully) Of Summerville, SC, and formerly of Sagamore Beach, MA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 22, 2018, she was 88.

Born and raised in Dorchester, MA, Barbara was a daughter of the late Martin J. Scully and Sigrid (Hook) Morris. She was educated in Boston Schools, and went on to work as a Manager in the New England Telephone Company for 30 years. She enjoyed quilting, fine needle work, playing scrabble with her husband and reading mystery novels.  She had a generous heart and helped many charities over her lifetime.

Barbara was the beloved wife of the late Patrick J. O’Leary. Devoted mother of Christine O’Leary-Eldred, Nancy M. Gulliksen, and Lenore M. Kieseling, all of Summerville SC, and  the late Patricia O’Leary formerly of Yarmouthport.  Loving grandmother of Marcus A. LaRocca of Yarmouthport, Lucas R. Kieseling of Summerville SC, and the late Ryan Kieseling.  Sister of the late Helen V. Calnan, Martin J. Scully, and Margaret Reece.   

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday from 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. Family and friends will gather in the funeral home beginning at 9:15 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Joseph’s Church, 272 Main St., Kingston,  at 11 o’clock. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne at 1:30 PM. 

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Barbara may be made to the MSPCA-Angell, 350 So. Huntington Ave., Jamaica Plain, MA 02130.
