Barbara M. Hinckley

Hinckley, Barbara M. (Fitzgerald) of Hingham, passed away April 7, 2018.

Barbara adored her family and was completely devoted to her husband. Her faith was very important to her and she enjoyed antiquing, traveling, ice skating, and spending time with her dogs. Barbara worked as a librarian for Boston Public Schools and then owned and operated Lilac House Antiques with her husband. She was the former member of the Hingham Historical Society and spent many days working estate sales and antique shows. Barbara was very caring and generous and always put others before herself. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Beloved wife of 65 years to the late Edward J. Hinckley. Loving mother of Edward D. Hinckley of Hingham, Susan Bocchino and her late husband Richard of Marshfield, Daniel B. Hinckley of Weymouth, Joanne Hinckley of Dorchester, Barbara A. Hinckley of Hingham, Pamela J. Hinckley and her late husband Robert Williamson of Cohasset, and Stephen Hinckley and his wife Lisa of Hingham. Also survived by 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM. Burial in Hingham Centre Cemetery.
