Barbara L. White

White, Barbara (James) of Quincy, died November 5, 2016.  

Beloved wife of the late Samuel J. White. Cherished mother of Jacqueline Joyce and her husband Joseph of Quincy, Michael White and his wife Kimberly of Plymouth, Laura Bock of Quincy, William White and his wife Allison of Norwell, and Barbara Cochrane and her husband Sean of Braintree. Loving sister of Joseph James and his wife June of TN and Patricia Mezzera of NV. Devoted “Nanny” of Samuel Joyce of Middleboro, Elizabeth Bock of Quincy, Sean and James Cochrane of Braintree, Joseph and Robert White of Norwell, Lindsay White of Plymouth, and Zach and Josh Callender of Plymouth. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Barbara adored her family and was always very close with her in laws. She loved politics, cooking, and at one time was a renowned professional gambler in the Vegas and Atlantic City gambling circuits. Barbara always spoke her mind and had a great sense of humor. She was selfless and always put others before herself. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9 AM on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne at 12:45 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Barbara may be made to Hospice of the South Shore, 30 Reservoir Park Drive, Rockland, MA 02370.
