Barbara L. Faulkner

Dr. Barbara L. Faulkner of Weymouth, passed away on February 23, 2022.

Born in Quincy and a graduate from Quincy High School, Barbara attended Providence Bible College, Eastern Nazarene College and Boston University where she received her Ph.D.  She was a history professor at Eastern Nazarene College from 1960-1996 where she touched the lives of many students and made lifelong friends with her colleagues.  Barbara was a member at Central Baptist Church for 50 years where she was a Deaconess and Sunday school teacher.  Most recently she was a member at Wollaston Nazarene Church.  Barbara enjoyed travelling and visited Canada many times and several countries in Europe.  She was an avid researcher of her family’s genealogy.  Barbara’s lifelong passion was giving abandoned cats a loving home.

Beloved daughter of the late Stephen W. Faulkner, Jr and Reta J. (Graham).

Sister of the late Nina Finney and Katherine Merrill. Aunt of Susan Fernandez and her husband, Tony, of Jacksonville, FL, Judith Soule and her husband, James, of Kingston, Kimberly DiSandro and her husband, Jay, of Uxbridge and the late Stephen Merrill. Also survived by many grand nieces, nephews, cousins, and her beloved cat Nina.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Monday 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A – Bicknell Square).

Funeral services will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 AM in Eastern Nazarene Church, 23 East Elm Avenue, Quincy Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Stephen J. Merrill Scholarship Fund, c/o Eastern Nazarene College.
