Barbara J. Benson

Barbara J. Benson (Delaney) of Braintree, died April 4, 2017 at the age of 86.

Barbara was a partner with her husband at their company John J. Benson, Inc. in Weymouth. She was also the owner and operator of the Curiosity Shop in North Weymouth for many years. Earlier in life, Barbara volunteered as a CCD teacher at St. Thomas More and was a member of the Couples Club and Sewing Club. She will be remembered for her generosity and willingness to help others.

Beloved wife of 67 years to John J. Benson. Loving mother of Barbara Wuestefeld and husband Skip of Braintree, John J. “Jackie” Benson, Jr. and wife Rochelle of Randolph, and Leslie Belcher and husband Kenneth of Braintree. Sister of Stephen Delaney, James Delaney, Jr., Jacqueline Tibbets and the late Peter Delaney and Louise M. Donaghue. Devoted “Nana” of Thomas Wuestefeld, Kerrie Vernava, Jason Wuestefeld, Michael Wuestefeld, Lindsay Hulke, Kyle Belcher and Destanie Marie Benson. Also survived by 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A – Bicknell Square). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Joseph’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Donations in memory of Barbara may be made to the Franciscan Monastery of St. Clare, 920 Centre St., Jamaica Plain, MA 02130.
