Barbara H. Knox

Barbara Helen (Curran) Knox 68, of Quincy, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday November 20, 2019.

Born in Boston, she was a daughter of the late Peter John Curran, and Lillian Barbara (Curran).  Barbara was raised in South Boston and was a 1969 graduate of South Boston High School.  She worked for several years as a home health aide, and later as an Administrative Assistant for the Boston Municipal Police, retiring in 1993.  Barbara enjoyed arts and crafts.  The greatest joys in her life came from time spent with her family.

Barbara was the wife of William Knox of Washington DC.  She was the devoted mother of William Knox and his wife Christine of Quincy, and Christopher Knox and his girlfriend Colleen Kelly of Dorchester.  She was the proud Nana of Joseph William Knox and Bridget Grace Knox both of Quincy, and the sister of MaryAnne Walls of FL and her late husband Kenneth, Lillian DeGrandis of Quincy and her late husband John, Dorothy Curran of Lowell, Kathleen Conners and her husband Michael of Weymouth, Michael Curran of FL, and the late George Curran, Peter Curran and his wife Margaret, and Eileen Nee and her husband Michael. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday December 2, 2019 from 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday December 3, 2019 at 10 AM in the funeral home.  Interment is private.
