Barbara A. (Pearson) Greenwood, of Braintree, passed away surrounded by her loving family on July 23, 2024. She was 81
Barbara grew up in Dorchester before moving to the South Shore to raise her family with her loving husband of 46 years, the late Joseph A. Greenwood.
Barbara enjoyed playing cards with her friends, tending to her beautiful garden, putting puzzles together with her grandkids, chatting on the phone, telling stories, and hanging out with her beloved dog, Gizmo. She was constantly on the lookout for a good yard sale and when she found one, she always came home with something special for someone in her family.
Loving mother of Joseph Greenwood of Braintree, Joanne Whitehead and her partner, John Martindale of Holbrook, Kim Walters and her husband, Mark Mogan of Braintree, William Pearson and his wife, Laura, of Plymouth, and the late Michele Greenwood.
Sister of Richard Pearson and his wife Linda of Arizona, Albert Pearson and his wife, Susan, of Wareham, James Pearson of Quincy, Thomas Pearson, of Acushnet, Peter Pearson of East Bridgewater, Robert Pearson and his wife, Dorothy of Plymouth, Michael Pearson of South Carolina, Dorothy Stedman and her husband, Brian, of Weymouth, Carl Pearson of Dorchester, Theresa O’Connor and her husband, John, of Quincy, and the late Rita Estes and June Jenkins.
Adored and admired from her grandchildren, Jonathan, Brittanie, Ashley, Jacqueline, Taylor, Joey, Bobby, Hayley, Nicholas, and the late Alexa and the late Rocky.
Great Grandmother to Sophia, Liliana, Hannah, Owen, Kylie, Caleb, Guinevere, Everleigh, Everest, Ava, Bella, Myles
Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Monday, July 29th from 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).
A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Tuesday, July 30th prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Clare’s Church, Braintree at 10 AM.
Burial will follow in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Barbara may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
