Barbara R. (Gunning) Connors of Quincy, was born in Boston on April 11, 1930, and passed away peacefully on February 14, 2025. Barbara was the daughter of the late John and Esther (Kenney) Gunning. For sixty-nine wonderful years Barbara was the beloved wife of the late Martin J. Connors and she was also the loving mother of Barbara O’Connell and her husband Robert of Mansfield, of Debra Baldasare and her husband Joseph of Mansfield, of Charlotte Arnold and her husband Stephen of Kennebunk, ME, and of Colleen Polk and her husband James of Marblehead. In addition, she was the cherished and loving nana of Katherine and Alison O’Connell, of Matthew and Emma Baldasare, of Connor and Hunter Arnold, and of Grace and Charlotte Polk. Further, Barbara was the sister of Teresa Gallagher, and the sister of the late John, Robert, and William Gunning, as well as the sister of the predeceased Jean Arsenault, Patricia Miller, and Marie Goodrum. Surviving Barbara are also many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In 1954 Barbara married Martin, the love of her life, and together they happily raised their four daughters. Barbara and Martin were always devout Catholics, they were both long time members of the Irish Pastoral Centre of Dorchester, MA, and during their entire lives they remained very proud of their Irish heritage.

Most important of all Barbara was so very proud of her family, and she will be remembered forever as a woman of great religious faith, as a friend to many in her community, as a devoted wife, as a loving mother, and as a cherished and loving nana to her eight grandchildren, who she loved with all her heart. Barbara will be sadly missed by all of those who were blessed to have known her.
