Hunt, Barbara C. “Mammy” (Caswell) of Weymouth, passed away February 28, 2013 surrounded by her loving family.

Barbara has lived in Weymouth since 1919 where she started raising her family while her husband served in the war and later became a Weymouth firefighter. She later worked as a lunch matron at Weymouth High School for over 15 years, retiring in 1982.  In her early years, Barbara was active outdoors, skiing, horseback riding and playing tennis. More recently, she could often be found at her home on Newfound Lake, NH enjoying the change in season and watching the days weather pass by. Barbara had a special place in her heart for the Weymouth firefighters and would bake them cookies and special treats.  She will be missed for her kind and loving spirit. 

Predeceased by the love of her life George W. “Butch”.  Loving mother of George E. Hunt and his wife Mary Ann of Virginia, John Hunt and his wife Donna of Pembroke, MA, Phillip Hunt and his girlfriend Patti Sweet of Dorchester and Marjorie Giannone and her late husband Nick of Weymouth.  Beloved sister of the late Marjorie Caswell.  Devoted grandmother of 6 grandchildren and great grandmother of 5 plus one on the way.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 9-11 AM in the McDonald Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off RT.3A-Bicknell Sq.)  Funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 AM in McDonald Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea St. (off Rt. 3A-Bicknell Sq.), Weymouth.  Burial will be at a later date.  In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Mammy may be made to the Activities Fund Coyne Healthcare 56 Webster Street, Rockalnd MA 02370.
